        What started as a pipe dream in 2014 has grown into a trusted leader in self-preservation, crime prevention, and marksmanship training. Founded by Tina Heaps, Heaps Tactical is built on a mission to help people feel confident, capable, and safe, never fearful or unprepared.

        After surviving crime and domestic violence herself, Tina turned her experience into purpose. Her real-world perspective, combined with unmatched credentials, drives every course she teaches. From SLED concealed carry certification to advanced firearm handling, self-defense, and situational awareness, there is a class for every level and goal. Each student receives personalized support and instruction designed to build skill and confidence at their own pace.

        Tina is a Myrtle Beach local with a lifelong passion for safety, empowerment, and skill-building. Born in New Jersey and raised in South Carolina, she has spent more than 14 years refining her expertise and helping others feel prepared for any situation. Through hard work and determination, Tina has earned extensive certifications and built a reputation as one of the most qualified instructors in the region.

        Her classes are never “one size fits all.” Whether you are new to firearms or seeking to refine your advanced skills, Tina will help you set clear goals, push past limits, and achieve success. Her teaching style is engaging, empowering, and rooted in real-life application, so you leave confident and ready to protect yourself and those you love.

Outside of training, Tina enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, camping, relaxing by a fire, walking the beach with her husband, Brandon, and making memories with her daughters, Madelynn and Emily.
